My Pattern Experience: Ripple Hat

This hat was an incredibly easy pattern to follow - however, I can't share it with you as I can't find this pattern any longer.  It's not saved in my links, the only remnant I have of it is this picture.... which I am sharing with you now because it was the post that I planned to write about and I don't have another topic to cover.

I feel like I've been having this issue lately - the post that I planned to write isn't the post that came out... Oh well, sometimes that's the beauty of being creative.  You just do what you need to to make the art work anyway.

Looking back on the hat, I wish I had done it with a smaller hook, so that the holes were smaller between the shells.  I loved the color scheme though.  :)

Have a very happy New Year, everyone!!!

Scouting Sunday: Resin Crafting

Today brings you the last Scouting Sunday of 2023.... and some changes to Scouting Sunday in 2024!!

Instead of this being a weekly series going forward, I plan on doing them once a month.  I'm going to host them linky-style, encouraging other crafters to share their posts around a central theme for the month.   I may still make a post or two in this format, when I have stuff I really want to share, but it definitely will not be as frequent as I move toward other content that I want to share with you all here.

Today I've brought you my top 10 items that I have for resin crafting!

Reinbeers {Craft Tutorial}

One year, I wanted to make all of our friends something that was handmade, but useful.  I was able to crochet washcloths and all sorts of cool things for the ladies, but I was stumped about what to do for the men.  Then it occurred to me - men generally like beer!  I went out to the local liquor store and took a look around for some holiday themed beer, and when I saw these bottles, I knew just what I needed to do with them!!!!

REINBEER!!!

This is a super simple craft, and it could be done using any non-alcoholic beverage that comes in a brown bottle as well (I'm thinking Root Beer!)

Materials needed:
Brown Pipe Cleaners
Red puff balls
Googly Eyes
Beer or Beverage of your choice
Hot Glue gun and glue sticks

Instructions:
Using hot glue, stick on the eyes and nose.

For the antlers, I took one pipe cleaner and folded it in half, then at the halfway point, looped it around the top of the bottle and twisted the ends tight.  Then I put one on either side of the "head" and attached smaller pieces of pipe cleaners to the top to make them look more like antlers.

That's it!!!  Such an easy and last minute craft that you can do that will please anyone!!!
